How to Hang Balloon Garland to the Wall
A balloon garland is a fun, trendy decoration idea for any event. They’re easy to customize based on your color scheme and a party vibe. As a temporary decoration, they work well in all kinds of event spaces, including your home!
But one challenge many party-hosters face is hanging balloon garlands.
We often get asked about how to hand a balloon garland on the wall.
With a few simple supplies and a little time, it’s easy to hand balloon garlands anywhere.

Supplies
Before you can get into how to hang a balloon garland outside or on a wall, you need the right supplies. Here are a few things you will need:
- Command hooks
- Outdoor-rated mounting hooks
- Twine
- Ribbon
- Fishing line
- Your balloon garland (check out our previous blog post on how to make one!)
Install Command Hooks
Command hooks will serve as the anchor for your balloon garland. They are temporary and can blend in with the wall. Behind your balloon garland, you’ll hardly notice them. We recommend clear command hooks if possible.
To hang them:
- Wipe the wall to remove dirt and grime.
- Attach the strips to the back of the hooks.
- Firmly press the hook to the wall for 30 seconds. Press hard for a strong bond.
- Wait at least 1 hour before handing.
- Plan where you want the garland to go.
- Have another person hold up the garland so you can see where to place the first wall hook.
- Install the first hook.
- Use your twine, fishing line, or ribbon to attach the beginning of your garland to the hook.
- Hold the rest of the garland to the desired shape.
- Plan and place the second wall hook for the opposite end of the garland.
- Attach the end of the garland to the other hook.
